Commission Rates

Our pricing structure is designed to give you complete freedom in choosing as much or as little of our services as you like.

For the highest percentage of the sale you can drop the guitar off at our showroom or arrange for it to be delivered to us.

Alternatively we are happy to take care of this and will charge a fee in line with insured delivery using our Postage Guarantee.

If you decide to take your guitar back, we will only charge the £60 listing and luthier fee. As well as a fully serviced and set-up guitar, the listing, luthier report, and photos are then yours to use however you wish.

Listing and Luthier Fee - £60

This covers the entire process of preparing your guitar for sale and includes a full set up, full luthier report, professional images and an in depth description. 7% of the final sale price

We take just 7% of the final sale price.

Platform Fees

Dependent upon which platform we sell the guitar on we are charged a transaction fee. You don't need to worry about this coming off the figures we agree as the amount will be added onto the asking price to encourage buyers to contact us directly.

Drop off or arrange for the guitar to be delivered to us

If you are able to drop off with us then this will of course incur no extra cost

We arrange collection

We will send you our packaging kit and will arrange for a courier to collect on a day of your choosing. The cost of this is £35 + 2.5% of our valuation of your guitar. We will pay out your Contract Valuation Price in the event of loss or damage

We ship to the new buyer

Similarly if the guitar is sent to the new buyer the cost of this is £35 + 2.5% of the final sale price. These costs are often built into the listing prices we set and we encourage buyers to collect when they can

When we sell a guitar the buyer will have the option to return the guitar within 30 days of delivery. Due to how low our rates are we are unable to pay out in full until this window has expires (much like most other retailers).

On some occasions though we are able to offer return protection, meaning that you will receive your payout the next working day regardless of whether the new buyer decides to keep the guitar or not.

The cost of this is 4% of the final sale price.

We have years of experience buying and selling guitars and will be on hand to provide our expertise in setting a realistic asking price for your guitar.

This being said we are always happy to discuss the amount you are hoping to receive and set the asking price a little higher to accommodate for this.

The worst that can happen in this instance is that we decide to lower the price in future or consider offers made by potential buyers.

Once we have agreed on a realistic valuation we can then decide on where we want to set the asking price, the decision to make here is whether we want to aim for a faster sale by selling the guitar for slightly under market value, or set the price higher to try and achieve as much as possible.

We typically recommend using our guide price to find the balance between price and speed, however as with the whole process the route we take is entirely up to you.

Now that the price is set we can get the guitar listed on multiple sales platforms. Every guitar we sell receives a full setup and luthier report to give potential buyers full confidence when buying with us.

Once this is complete the guitar has a detailed description written and has professional and accurate photographs taken to allow the buyer to see exactly what they are buying.

From here we will be in touch with any sensible offers we receive and will stay in touch with recommendations going forwards.

The most commonly asked question we receive is 'how long will it take for my guitar to sell?', which is an entirely reasonable line of enquiry when selling via a commission service.

The answer to this question will vary dependent on rarity, popularity and most importantly the asking price. The strategy we put forward will best suit your needs, whether that is achieving as much as possible or trying to secure a faster sale.
