Here for sale we have an Avalon Pioneer L2-30C Acoustic Guitar, a rare one-of-a-kind custom guitar, built in Ireland in 2019. Confirmed by Avalon to be the only one of its kind, the Pioneer L2-30C presents an opportunity to become an important part of Avalon history. This guitar features an all-solid construction comprising a Sitka Spruce top, Wenge back and sides, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Ebony fingerboard with matching bridge.  The body is double bound in Sycamore, whilst the top is adorned with handsome multi-stripe purfling and a Pau Pau & Abalone rosette. The headstock is overlaid with Rosewood and features a Mother of Pearl Avalon logo, complimenting the fingerboard inlays which also feature Abalone. A Bone saddle and nut are fitted, along with a set of Schaller M6 machine heads with Ebony buttons. An LR Baggs Lyric internal microphone and preamp system is installed, with sound hole mounted controls for master volume and microphone presence. 
 
The Mahogany neck plays fantastically well, with a profile that might be described as a Soft 'V' shape which fills the hand nicely without being at all cumbersome. In a world of Modern 'C' and SlimTaper necks, the 'V' profile is often overlooked. This is a shame because it is a highly practical and ergonomic shape which lends itself well to a wide variety of styles and techniques. The Ebony fingerboard feels exceptionally premium under the fingers, adding a real sense of luxury to the playing experience. The 16" radius is somewhat traditional for acoustic guitars, and ensures practicality for both chordal and melodic playing styles in any register. The Venetian cutaway is pleasing to the eye whilst enhancing access to the upper frets. 
 
The acoustic voice of the Avalon Pioneer L2-30C Custom is rich and warm, and provides a surprising amount of balance for a jumbo-bodied acoustic. Lows are warm without being too soft, retaining plenty of accuracy. The midrange is tight and punchy, helping to easily cut through a mix when playing as part of an ensemble. The treble response is bright and shimmering, adding a sparkle to every note played on the instrument. One real standout feature of this custom build is the sheer amount of sustain it achieves, with notes and chords ringing out with beautiful crystalline clarity. The LR Baggs Lyric microphone and preamp system is another premium feature, accurately conveying the acoustic voice of the instrument in both live and recording situations. An incredibly well-crafted instrument with a unique selection of tonewoods and a beautiful tone.
