Here for sale we have a set of DiMarzio SDS1 single coil pickups, which we believe to have been made in the late '70s, soon after the pickups were introduced in '78. The 'Patent Applied For' sticker along with the two black and white conductor wires and hex pole pieces which go right the way through the pickup all point to their manufacture early in the production of these pickups.

The DiMarzio SDS-1 was introduced in 1978 as a stacked single-coil, with tonal characteristics closer to that of a soapbar than their appearance would suggest. Ceramic magnets are used with steel pole pieces and a spacer bar to produce notably less magnetic pull than traditional rod magnet pickups, allowing them to be set closer to the strings for a stronger output. A great way to beef up the tone of your Stratocaster or other single-coil routed guitar.

Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Import fees will be charged by Customs upon the guitar's arrival in the recipient country. Due to Brexit, this also applies to EU buyers. We advise checking the total import cost with Customs as this is not information we are able to accurately provide.
