Here for sale we have an Epiphone Thunderbird Electric Bass in Tobacco Sunburst finish.
Made in Korea in 2002, this bass consists of a bolt-on construction Mahogany Body, a Maple neck and a 20 Medium Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a Classic Style 3-Point Adjustable Flush-Mount and sealed tuning machines. The pickups that are installed are a set of Epiphone TB Plus humbuckers that are wired to two independent volume controls and a master tone control.
The Maple neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the 60’s Rounded profile allowing for comfortable reach in all registers and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning, whilst the Gloss finish is fantastic for smooth, quick transitions up and down the neck. The Rosewood fingerboard feels pleasant under the fingers, whilst the 12” radius and Medium jumbo frets allow for ease of different techniques such as slap bass or chordal playing. The body design allows the player to have unobstructed access to the entire register, whilst also making longer durations of playing a comfortable experience.
Amplified, the Epiphone TB Plus humbuckers provide a fantastic fundamental bass tone, with a deep rumbling low end that will fill out any mix. The mid range is warm and adds a distinct character to the tone, whilst the high end frequencies add a nice snappy fast attack. The individual volume controls allow you to blend the neck and bridge pickups in any combination, providing a versatile range of tones suitable for a multitude of musical settings.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. Light scratching is present to the front face, bass side edge and treble side edge, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This is most noticeable to the front face.
Neck: Overall very good condition. Very light scratching is present to the rear face, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This is most noticeable to the front face.
Body: Overall good condition. Light scratching is present to all surfaces of the body, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This is most noticeable to the rear face, consistent with buckle rash. Chipping to the finish and wood is present to the treble side edge of the lower horn and lower bout towards the back. Light cracking to the finish is present to both sides of the neck pocket. This does not flex under pressure or go into the wood, causing no structural concern.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional & adjustable. No truss rod tool included (hex 4mm)
Hardware: Fully functional with signs of wear. The bass side post of the bridge has been damaged when previous owners have adjusted the string height, however this is still functional.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
