Here for sale we have a Fender Starcaster semi-hollow electric guitar in Aged Cherry Burst finish. The Starcaster was introduced in the mid-1970s in an attempt to compete in the semi-hollow guitar market, which was dominated by Gibson's ES series at the time. The Starcaster was designed by Gene Fields to be a high quality instrument, although it was produced during the height of the CBS era when Fender's quality was not at its best. The model was unsuccessful at the time, and was discontinued by 1980. The instrument was reissued in 2013 as part of Fender's Modern Player series, and has remained in production ever since. 
 
A bolt on construction is employed, and comprises a Laminated Maple body with Alder centre block, Maple neck and 22 fret Maple fingerboard. The Maple neck and fingerboard of this particular example sports a beautiful strong flame. Chrome hardware is fitted including an Adjusto-Matic bridge and Anchored Tailpiece along with a set of sealed Fender tuning machines. A pair of Fender Wide-Range humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch and independent volume & tone controls. 
 
The Maple neck plays very well, with the C Shape neck filling the hand nicely for a comfortable grip when chord playing, whilst remaining slim enough for fast articulate lead lines. The gloss finish of the neck and fingerboard is pleasant in the hand and assists with smooth navigation of the 25.5" scale. The 9.5" fingerboard radius is traditional for Fender and provides a smooth and durable playing surface which is equally suitable for chordal and melodic playing styles, whilst the medium jumbo frets enhance vibrato and bending techniques. The offset body design with generous double cutaways is comfortable in the arms whilst ensuring unrestricted access to the upper frets.
 
The pair of Fender Wide-Range humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full-bodied tones, suitable for a broad range of genres and playing styles. The neck pickup is warm and round, and produces plenty of power for driving your lead lines and solos to the front of the mix. The bridge position is brighter, easily pushing your amplifier into a saturated distortion tone which is perfect for rhythm power chords and riffs. The semi-hollow construction of the body helps to provide a wide and sensitive dynamic range, as well as an open and airy tone with clean sounds. A unique and quite rare instrument which is sure to stand out from the crowd.
