Here for sale we have a Gibson USA Slash Les Paul Standard in Antique Vintage Sunburst finish. Made in the USA in 2008, this very special guitar was part of a limited run of just 1600 instruments, and was developed between Slash and Gibson to represent one of Slash's personal favourite Les Paul Standards. This instrument is based on the guitar he used for over 20 years to create some of the most powerful and popular hard rock of all time.
Naturally, a set-neck construction is employed, and comprises a period-correct weight-relieved Mahogany body with AA Flame Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. A Chrome Tune-O-Matic bridge and StopBar tailpiece are fitted, along with a set of Nickel Gibson Deluxe tuning machines with Kluson 'Tulip' buttons. A pair of Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro humbucking pickups are fitted, and are wired to the standard Les Paul Controls.
The Mahogany neck plays exceptionally well, with a specially created profile that meets Slash's exact standards. The profile might be described as a rather slim rounded 'C' shape, which lends itself very well to the hard rock riffing, lead lines and solos that Slash has built his career upon. The Rosewood fingerboard feels luxurious under the fingers, and with it's traditional 12" radius provides a highly practical playing surface across the register. The medium jumbo frets enhance the feel of string bending and vibrato techniques whilst making for a fast and effortless feel in any position.
The pair of Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro humbucking pickups deliver thick, full-bodied tones, with plenty of grit and crunch for those dirty riffs and powerful lead lines. Prior to his own Seymour Duncan signature pickups being released, all of Slash's signature models came with these pickups, as they were what was fitted to 'The Derrig' - the Les Paul copy that Slash used on Appetite for Destruction. The bridge position is hot, producing a saturated and searing distortion tone that is perfectly suited to Slash style riffing. The neck pickup is rounder and warmer, and blasts your solo tones to the front of the mix with ease. Top hat not included.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the headstock demonstrate very light scratching when viewed under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable to the front face. Any other markings are difficult to discern.
Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck shows very light scratching when viewed under direct light. These markings are not felt under the thumb and do not impact playability. Any other markings are difficult to discern.
Body: Overall very good condition. Very light scratching to all aspects of the body is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable to the centre of the rear face, consistent with light buckle rash.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
