Here for sale we have a Gordon Smith Gatsby Deluxe electric guitar in Burled Walnut finish. Made in the UK in 2022, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Mahogany body with Burled Walnut top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Gold hardware is fitted including a Gotoh T-O-M bridge and Gotoh 'Magnum Lock Trad' locking tuning machines. A pair of P-90 pickups are installed, with a Gordon Smith P-90 in the bridge and a Bare Knuckle hand-wound P-90 in the neck position. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, master volume and master tone controls. 
 
The Mahogany neck is a joy to play on, with a profile which might be described as a moderately-sized 'D' shape which offers a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. Certainly, the profile is substantial enough to inspire confidence when chord playing, yet remains slim and articulate enough for lead lines and solos. The Satin finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 25.5" scale, whilst the offset body design and lightly sculpted heel ensure unrestricted access to the upper register. The offset body is comfortable in the arms, and with ergonomic contours in high contact areas can be played for extended periods of time without fatigue. 
 
The pair of P-90 pickups installed in this guitar deliver a versatile range of tones which work well in a variety of musical settings. Falling sonically somewhere between a single-coil and humbucker, the P-90 pickup can essentially be thought of as an overwound single coil. This results in shimmering clean tones that are slightly less brittle than a typical single-coil, and dirty tones that can handle a lot more gain. The Bare Knuckle hand wound P-90 in the neck is a nice upgrade which provides extra clarity to your tone as it captures the nuance of your playing. The Gordon Smith P-90 in the bridge is of course brighter, and saturates into a beautifully rich distortion tone which is perfect for dirty rhythm parts and riffs. A beautifully made and unique looking instrument with sounds to match.
