Here for sale we have a Guild D-30 acoustic guitar in Gloss Natural finish. Made in the USA, the serial number of this guitar indicates that it was manufactured in 1988. An all-solid set-neck construction is featured, and comprises a Spruce top, Flamed Maple back and sides, Flamed Maple neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard with matching bridge. The body is double bound, whilst the top features multi-strip purfling and rosette, as well as a handsome tortoiseshell pickguard. Gold hardware is fitted including a set of Grover Rotomatic tuning machines.
The Flamed Maple neck plays very well, with a profile which might be described as a moderately-sized 'C' shape, which fills the hand nicely for a substantial yet easily manageable grip, well suited to both chordal and melodic playing styles. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 16" radius is practical for a wide range of playing techniques. The years of playing that this instrument has seen produce a real vibe and sense of history which is very inspiring in the hands. The nut width at 1.693" is perhaps slightly on the thinner side, certainly for an acoustic. This ensures easy reach across the register whilst maintaining ample string spacing for accurate fretting.
The acoustic voice of the Guild D-30 is rich and powerful, delivering crystalline chords when strumming that would be equally at home as a solo instrument or part of an ensemble. The Flamed Maple back and sides produce a brightness which adds clarity to the overall tone, whilst the arched back works in conjunction with the large body and Spruce top to project exceptionally well. This particular guitar has been fitted with a 'Bridge Doctor', which serves to soften the tone slightly, and along with the natural aging and seasoning of the tonewoods helps to produce an overall mellow yet distinct tone. An instrument with a genuine vintage tone and vibe that is inspiring to play.

These markings are all consistent with a well played guitar of this age and will not worsen through regular use.

Consistent scratching, chipping and indentation is apparent to all aspects of the body but does not affect the structure of the instrument. Nitro checking is apparent throughout, with some more notable wear to the finish at the bottom rear edge where the binding has become exposed. The pickguard shows mild scratching consistent with playwear.
