Here for sale we have a Jackson PS4 Performer Series electric guitar in Deep Metallic Blue finish. Made in Japan in 1999, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Black hardware is fitted, including a Jackson Licenced Floyd Rose JT500 double-locking tremolo system and sealed Jackson tuning machines. A trio of Jackson pickups are installed in an HSH configuration, with a J170 in the neck, J135 in the middle and J70 in the bridge. These are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume and master tone controls.

The Maple neck plays very well, with a profile which resembles a shallow 'D' shape. This is well suited to the more technical player thanks to the flattened area to the centre rear of the neck which promotes ergonomic thumb positioning. Indeed, the profile feels particularly fast and articulate in the hand. Paired with the 14"-16" compound fingerboard radius, the playing experience feels razor sharp and precise in any register. The 'S' style body is supremely comfortable in the arms, with generous cutaways and contours which reduce playing fatigue whilst enhancing access to the upper frets.

The trio of Jackson pickups installed in this guitar deliver a wide range of tones that work well in a variety of musical settings. It has to be said that the HSH pickup configuration with a 5-way switch is one of the most versatile available, and this example goes a long way to confirming that. There is plenty of grunt on offer from the bridge, which when driving the amp delivers a saturated distortion tone that's perfect for your rock and metal rhythm playing. The power of the J170 in the neck position is perfect for lead lines and solos, whilst the clarity of the J135 single-coil in the middle position works well with the split humbuckers in positions 2 & 4 to deliver sparkling clean tones.

Please be aware that for international buyers import fees are not included in our postage and packaging cost, this only covers the cost of the guitar being sent to you. Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall good condition. The tip of the headstock presents a notable chip to the rear edge where a section of wood is missing. Light indentation is consistent across all aspects of the headstock. Light to mild scratching to the font face is visible under close scrutiny, as is common with high gloss finishes.

Neck: Overall good condition. The rear of the neck demonstrates consistent scratching, indentation, chipping of the finish and discoloration across the register. This can be lightly felt under the thumb in the playing position but does not impact the overall playability of the instrument. Light scratching of the fingerboard can be seen across the register, not affecting playability.

Body: Overall good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate mild to moderate indentation, scratching and chipping of the finish. This is most notable to the bass side waist where consistent indentation has cracked and chipped the finish. At the treble side rear edge of the lower bout a chip exposes the wood. The belly carve of the rear face shows milder scratching consistent with buckle rash.

    Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Flattening of the frets is apparent throughout the register, with light denting apparent in the early register. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

    Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (7mm socket) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional with moderate signs of wear. The nut blocks can stick slightly in the nut, but are removable. Many of the screws around the body show mild oxidation. A previous repair is apparent to the Floyd Rose arm socket, with what appears to be epoxy resin or glue around the bushing visible from inside the cavity. The arm is functional, removable, and operates with minimal play.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm

Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height.
