Here for sale we have a Martin 00L-X2E Electro-Acoustic guitar in Natural finish. Made in Mexico in 2019, this guitar features a dovetail construction comprising a Spruce top, High Pressure Laminate (HPL) back and sides with Figured Mahogany Pattern finish. The neck, fingerboard and bridge are made from Select Hardwood; a term that means the wood has been selected by the luthier for its consistent colour and look, typically being either Mahogany or Spanish Cedar. A compensated Tusq saddle is fitted, along with a Corian nut and Chrome sealed Martin tuning machines. A Fishman Sonicore undersaddle piezo pickup is installed, and is wired to a discreetly sound hole mounted Fishman MX preamp with master volume and tone controls.
 
The Select Hardwood neck plays very well. Martin's Performing Artist neck profile fills the hand nicely for a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register. Certainly, the profile is sized to fall between a vintage feel and modern practicality, allowing for chords and melodic playing equally well. The satin finish to the rear of the neck assists with smooth navigation of the 24.9" scale, which itself offers slightly reduced string tension for a slinky and highly playable feel. The 00 body size is small, feeling intimate and easily manageable in the arms; perfect for sofa practice sessions. 
 
The acoustic voice of the Martin 00L-X2E is bright and nicely balanced. The small body size produces a soft and quite delicate tone which works very well for fingerstyle playing. Due to its small size, the bass response is unpronounced, yet manages to stay accurate. Mids are open & clear, whilst the sparkle at the top end is rich and luxurious. Whilst not producing as much volume as some larger bodies, there is still enough dynamic range to play with, especially as it's so sensitive to the player's touch. The on-board pickup and preamp system faithfully conveys the acoustic tone of the instrument, and provides the versatility required for live and recording situations.
