Here for sale we have a Squier SST-33 Silver Series Stratocaster in Olympic White finish. Made in Japan around 1993-1994, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising a Basswood body, Maple neck and 21 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is equipped with a 6-Saddle Vintage-Style Synchronized Tremolo and a set of Gotoh sealed tuning machines. A pair of Seymour Duncan SSL-4 Quarter Pounder single-coils are installed with the original ST single-coil in the middle position, and are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume, bridge/middle Tone and a neck tone controls.
The Satin Maple neck plays very well, with the ‘Oval’ profile sitting very comfortably in the hand and promoting ergonomic hand positioning, feeling smooth whilst providing an articulate playing experience. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers and offers a tactile and durable playing surface. The 7.25" radius delivers a suitably vintage-inspired playing experience whilst retaining practicality for lead lines and string bending. The smooth lines of the Stratocaster body along with generous body contours are as comfortable and familiar as ever, ensuring that long gigs and practice sessions are a breeze.
The duo of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound SSL-4 single-coils installed in this instrument are outfitted with quarter-inch alnico 5 rod magnets, these high output Strat pickups deliver a huge tone – big, mean and perfect for heavy rock. As Well as being a rock and roll machine the bridge pickup provides bright and glistening trebles with plenty of spank, power chords sound gritty, whilst also providing soaring lead tones. However, with subtler amp settings the bridge offers a bright, glassy clean tone. The neck pickup has rounded creamer tones great for chordal phrasings or quick jazz style lines, whilst also handling higher gain settings masterfully, offering plenty of room for tonal sculpting, whilst the ST single-coil in the middle position produces bright trebles and full warm bass, and lends itself well to rhythm tones.
