Here for sale we have a Suhr Modern in Purple Nova finish. Suhr guitars are the work of John Suhr, who started his career as a guitar technician at Rudy's Music Stop in NYC. He began building guitars in 1974; creating Mark Knopfler's famous signature model under the Pensa-Suhr name in 1984. After a brief stint as a senior master builder in the Fender Custom Shop from '95 to '97, JS Technologies (Suhr Guitars) was founded in 1997, growing into the world renowned high-end instrument brand we know today.
Made in the USA in 2008, this custom-ordered guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 24 fret Pau Ferro fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a Gotoh GE1996T Floyd Rose style double-locking tremolo system and Sperzel locking tuning machines. A pair of JST Aldrich humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume and master tone controls.
The Maple neck plays exceptionally well. The 'Modern Elliptical' profile could be described as a 'D' shape, providing a flattened area to the centre for the thumb to rest. Whilst certainly not a thick neck, it remains substantial enough to sustain a comfortable and confidence-inspiring grip when chord playing. This makes for a more rounded playing experience that is highly articulate without being too shred focussed. The Pau Ferro fingerboard offers a smooth and durable playing surface, and with its 10"-14" compound radius makes for a highly practical experience in all registers. The Jumbo frets enhance string bending and vibrato techniques, and being made of Stainless Steel, you can play as hard as you like without worrying about fret wear.
The pair of JST Aldrich humbucking pickups deliver thick and full-bodied tones, just as you would expect from Doug Aldrich signature pickups. The neck position is warm and round whilst remaining precise, capturing every nuance of your lead lines and solos and blasting them to the front of the mix with ease. The bridge pickup is of course brighter, and can handle a serious amount of gain for that saturated distortion on your rhythm playing. The use of a 5-way switch offers plenty of versatility, splitting the coils in positions 2 & 4 for a more single-coil-esque clean sound with a sparkling top end shimmer. A very visually striking instrument with the specification and appointments to back it up.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. Light indentation which lightly pierces the finish is present to the top rear edge. Very light scratching to the front face is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. Any other markings are difficult to discern.
Neck: Overall excellent condition. The fingerboard shows very light scratching in the upper register, difficult to discern from the grain of the wood. These markings are not felt under the fingers in the playing position. The satin finish to the rear of the neck has worn to a light gloss through regular use. Any other markings are difficult to discern.
Body: Overall very good condition. A mild scratch is present at the bass side of the rear face, on the belly carve. Very light scratching to all aspects of the body is visible under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. This is most notable to the treble side of the waist, consistent with mild playwear.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
Current Set Up:
Truss Rod: Fully functional & adjustable. Truss rod tool included.
Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear. The pickup covers show light signs of oxidation.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
