Here for sale we have a Takamine EF 261SX BL Electro-Acoustic guitar in Gloss Black finish. Made in Japan in 2002, this guitar features an all-solid construction comprising Solid Cedar top, Mahogany back and sides, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard and matching bridge. This instrument is equipped with Chrome Gotoh sealed tuning machines and a Bone nut. A Takamine Graph-EX preamp system is featured with controls for volume, 3-band EQ and an exciter control.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a slim profile that feels very comfortable in the hand, thick enough to inspire confidence and feel dependable without being cumbersome. The Rosewood fingerboard feels pleasant to the touch, and with the 12" radius feeling as flat and consistent as ever, fretting is a breezy and sumptuous affair in any register. The Grand Auditorium body design feels great in both seated and standing positions, and provides unobstructed access to the higher register.
The voice of this guitar is warm and detailed, with the Mahogany back and sides producing a punchy and responsive midrange whilst also providing crisp high end voicings and a rounded low end. The Solid Cedar top provides a balanced, seasoned tone with plenty of sparking high end power and warm detail. The Takamine Graph-EX preamp system captures the natural voice of the instrument perfectly, the 3-band EQ offers complete control of your tone whilst the exciter control allows you to add grit to the overall tone for when it's needed. The simple control layout keeps things simple offering hassle free tone adjustments.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. Light to mild scratching is apparent to all faces of the headstock under direct lighting, as is common with high gloss finishes, this is most noticeable to the front face. Chipping of the finish is present to the rear face below the high E machine head, this has broken through the finish to the wood beneath. On the front face below the low E string a chip to the finish is present, this has been drop filled by the previous owner.
Neck: Overall very good condition. Very light denting is present to the fingerboard, only visible under direct light from certain angles. Most noticeable to the mid register. This can not be felt under the finger in the playing position. Light scratching is present across the rear of the neck, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This can not be felt under the finger in the playing position.
Body: Overall very good condition. Light scratching is present across all surfaces of the body, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This is most noticeable to the rear face. Light denting is present to the front face on the lower bout bass side and upper bout treble side.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Truss Rod: Fully functional & adjustable. No truss rod tool included (hex 5mm)
Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear. The low E bridge pin has been replaced by the previous owner, the original bridge pin is not included.
Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
