Here for sale we have a Takamine PSF45C Santa Fe Acoustic Guitar in Natural Gloss finish. Made in Japan in the year 2000, this guitar features a solid Spruce top, a solid Rosewood back and sides, and a 21-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Beautiful Turquoise Inlays are featured on the fingerboard along with a rosewood veneer on the headstock with an abalone Takamine logo and turquoise dot inlay. Gold-plated Takamine-branded tuners are featured with amber pearloid buttons. A beautiful guitar with luxurious appointments.

The Gloss Natural finish is framed on top and back by multi-ply ivoroid/blue wenge purfling, and the soundhole sports a distinct ‘Southwestern’-style rosette which projects the sound beautifully. The Mahogany neck sits comfortably in the hand, providing ergonomic thumb positioning and easy fretting up and down the neck. The Gloss finish to the rear of the neck provides a comfortable playing surface, whilst the Rosewood fingerboard feels pleasant under the fingers offering a smooth playing surface. The cutaway enhances access to the upper frets, whilst the smooth lines of the body ensure this instrument is comfortable and practical to play in seated or standing positions.

The acoustic voice of the Takamine PSF45C Santa Fe is warm and rich, with the all solid construction allowing the wood to resonate clearly for a lively and responsive playing experience. The Rosewood back and sides provide a deep, rich and warm tone with a defined low end, smooth midrange and sparkling highs. The Sitka Spruce top "X" bracing contributes to the guitar's excellent projection and sustain whilst producing a shimmering top end. A wide dynamic range is available, feeling highly sensitive to the player's touch.

    Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall good condition. Mild chipping and denting of the finish is apparent to the top of the headstock, most notably at the bass side corner of the front face. The top rear edge shows similar chipping which exposes the wood. A smaller indentation which lightly pierces the finish is present to the bass side rear between the nut and 6th E tuner.

Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck shows light to mild indentation, consistent throughout the register. This is lightly felt under the thumb in the playing position but does not impact the overall playability of the instrument. The fingerboard shows very light scratching throughout the register, not affecting playability.

Body: Overall fair condition. A notable area of finish running along the bass side edge of the lower bout exposes the wood, revealing a hairline split which follows the grain. This does not flex under pressure, and is not currently affecting structure. At the bottom edge of this split the binding has a notable chip, exposing the wood beneath. A small amount of wood has chipped away with the binding, exposing the seam between the top and side.  The binding surrounding this chip is cracked. Whilst currently stable, care would need to be taken not to remove more material. The treble side of the waist shows notable indentation consistent with moderate playwear. The treble side edge of the soundhole shows finish wear, with exposed wood which has worn down apparent inside the rosette. All aspects of the body show light to mild scratching and indentation, most notably to the rear face consistent with moderate buckle rash.

    Condition of Frets:

The frets show light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is moderate material remaining for any light fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

    Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. No truss rod tool included (hex 4mm)

Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear.

Structural: As mentioned above, the top shows a long hairline split and notable chip to the binding. This is currently stable but may worsen over time without care. The rear of the bridge shows very light signs of lifting behind the E and A strings. This is not due to bellying, and should not worsen over time.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-2.25mm - Bass 2.5mm

Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height.
