Here for sale we have a Yamaha AEX 502 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar from 2001 in black gloss finish. Made in Taiwan, this guitar features a semi-hollow body construction, with a Figured Maple top over an Alder body, bolt on Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard, two dog-ear style P90 single coil pickups, a tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece and a three-way pickup selector with master volume/tone pots.
The Maple neck is a medium ‘C’ profile in a satin finish, it is smooth and easy to navigate, the medium frets are comfortable to bend on and the 24.75” scale length feels sturdy and assured. The body is particularly comfortable to play, measuring 14” at the lower bout - compact for a semi-hollow but a nice size for someone looking for a guitar that gives you something reassuring to hold on to.
Unplugged the guitar is bright and resonant, the Maple/Alder and semi-hollow construction adding to this, the guitar rings out clearly across the fretboard and is quite articulate. The P90 pickups are versatile, sounding great for jazz and blues, yet are capable of handling a lot of gain for raucous rhythm and lead playing. The Yamaha AEX 502 would be ideal for someone looking for an affordable semi-hollow that stands out from the crowd.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall very good condition. Light scratching is present to the front face, only visible under direct light from certain angles. A small chip to the finish is present to the front face treble side under the high E tuner machine.
Neck: Overall very good condition. Very light scratching is present to the rear of the neck, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This is most noticeable to the lower register of the rear of the neck.
Body: Overall good condition. Light scratching and denting is present to all surfaces of the body, only visible under direct light from certain angles This is most noticeable to the front face lower bout.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
